Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues

Among the highest profile events of the "Year Of The Blues” is a series of blues documentaries to be shown on PBS in late September and early October masterminded by top director Martin Scorsese and featuring films put together by himself and five other leading directors - each dealing with an aspect of blues dear to that particular director’s heart. Sony and Universal are collaborating to issue a series of CD on September 9th featuring music from the films as well as other related recordings. At the end of the month Sony will be issuing all the films as a video set with bonus footage. Although we haven’t seen any of the series yet it looks like some episodes are likely to spark some controversy.
